A Seafair Sanctioned Community Event, Co-Produced by the Wallingford Community Senior Center and the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce.

For over 60 years Wallingford has played host to the longest running Seafair Parade, known as the Kiddie Parade. Families come from far and near to watch, participate in and enjoy this traditional event. This year, our parade will be held on Saturday July 6th beginning at 11AM.

The Parade is growing and expanding this year and has been renamed the Wallingford Family Parade and Festival, to reflect the importance of our collective neighborhood family. The parade will still feature kids as major participants but will also include families and local businesses. Drill teams, local marching bands and family oriented organizations will be represented in the Parade.

The Parade will be followed by the Wallingford Family Festival at the Meridian Park adjacent to the Good Shepherd Center beginning at 12PM and running through 5PM. The festival portion of the day will include local vendors selling handicrafts, booths featuring demonstrations and food vendors. There will also be plenty of activities for kids, including bouncy houses and games. Two stages will present the music of local bands and kids’ music groups. Plenty of fun and variety for all our Wallingford Family!

For more information about the Wallingford Family Parade and Festival we invite you to visit the event web site at www.visitwallingford.org.

Call For Garden Tour Volunteers! We are also looking for volunteers to help with the Garden Tour. This is a great way to meet your neighbors. You don’t have to be a gardening guru (you don’t even need to have a green thumb!) to be a big help. Students can earn Community Service Hours. Things we need help with are:

A Wallingford Artist to provide the flower art for this year’s Garden Tour poster.

People to help on the day of the tour by babysitting gardens so that the garden owners can actually go on the tour.

People to help sell tickets on the day of the tour.

People to put out yard signs announcing the tour on Sunday, June 17th or Monday the 18th.

People to pick up the yard signs in the afternoon of tour day, June 24th, or on Monday, June 25th

Call Janet at the Neighborhood Association Office for more info at (206) 406-0615 or send us an Email at WNA@wallingford.org.

The Wallingford Seafair Kiddies Parade and Street Fair are changing this year! The Street Fair will be relocated to Wallingford Playfield Park and renamed The Family Festival. There will still be craft booths, food, live music, pony rides, inflatables, and all the things we love about Street Fairs, but not in a street. We will be filling the Park with excitement and fun. Plan to spend the day!

Also, the route of the Wallingford Seafair Kiddies Parade will be changed. The parade will form up and start at the same place, (the corner of Corliss Ave. and 45th Street) then move west to Wallingford Ave., then turn South on Wallingford Ave. and proceed to the Park (between 42nd and 43rd) and disperse there. The performance area and judges will be in the same place, at the corner of 45th and Wallingford Ave. Wallingford Ave. will be closed from 42nd to 45th during the parade only, and then will be opened and remain open all day.

More information will be posted here and in the Wallingford Enews as it becomes available.
